Solution 2 stops the overheating right away, but won't running the fan non-stop make it harder to tell when room temp drops back below 30°C on the LCD?
Direct DC power is a great immediate fix while searching for parts, though Solution 3 gives us more control if the replacement transistor takes hours to arrive.

Reusing one light switch as a fan switch is smart because it satisfies the rule that the Arduino code cannot be modified.
Taking away one light switch does leave that server room light non-functional, but cooling the servers is definitely the higher priority.

Good point about subsystem coupling. In Solution 1, if someone turns off the light when leaving the server room, the cooling fan shuts off too!
That shared switch behavior is why I preferred Solution 3 over Solution 1—keeping the fan controls separate prevents accidental room overheating.

Bypassing between the 2N2222 Collector and Emitter positions via the switch was a very clean way to restore airflow without touching the Arduino output pins.
Great observation. It also ensures the DHT22 sensor and I2C LCD keep reporting live temperatures accurately without any circuit disruption.
